To remember or not to remember

There is always someone out there that you want to reach this Eid beyond your Whatsapp or Skype. There is always someone you want to reach out beyond the text message or e-mail. There is always someone you want to send something to.

Get this great collection of Eid Greeting cards and tell someone they are valuable. Order ends on the 16th June 2015. So hurry and send me a PM at Facebook. Here's my link https://www.facebook.com/fadzillah.rahim

Thank You cards

Dear all,

Here are some thank you cards I did for a friend. These cards are simple and done using Sizzix Big Shot cutout and emboss machine. So, here are the results.

I used a plain colour card and pasted with several different wrapping papers for the background. The foreground are all cutouts and embossed with Sizzix Big Shot.

Card Ad 2

This is the second ad I placed on facebook for my sending a card promotion. Yesterday, I wrote an entry and without realizing I coined the sentence "A card connects the heart". So, I decided to use the phrase today.

Love,

Fadz

Card Ad

    Dear all,

Since it is Ramadhan, it used to be a custom where we send greeting cards to remind each other that we
think about them. Apart from sending Eid or any other message, a card reminds someone of all the    memories both of you had together. A card connects the hearts.

So, send a card today and remind someone that you still care.

    Love,

    Fadzillah

Weddings

Salam all,

This time I am posting on a wedding congratulations card requested by a friend. She just said the recipient loves pink, so I tried to combine maroon and peachy pink. Also, some white to add contrast.

The very first step was to emboss the card partially and then to paste the nest-like texture on top.

The next step is where I made some flowers out of maroon paper and pasted on top of the card. Then, I found some sequins and decide to embellish the nest-like textural paper.

The purple ribbon was added to soften the look of the card.

Then, I added purple sequins to the flowers to add contrast. Lastly, I wrote the word 'Congratulations' on a designed paper, did some borders with black Artline pen, cut and pasted it on the left of the card. After everything is completed, I worked on the inside, which is plain cream coloured cartridge paper.

Finito.

Baby Boy

Dear all,

This is the very first time I did a card celebrating the birth of a baby boy. I have always wanted to explore this theme but finally I got the chance. However, I think I did not do justice to it. The approach is as similar to the Anniversary and the Birthday cards I did last year.

The first white and the second blue layers are intended to be flat. This goes the same for the two circles. The reason is I want to create a focus on the baby pyjama, the bottle and the shoes. I used foam tape to raise the illustrations. It creates a 3 dimensional effect.

As for the right side, I used small handmade flowers and ribbons from Korea. The orange horizontal and vertical strips were added to balance out the orange circle placed on the left. The word 'Congratulations' was placed on top of the gold card just to create an emphasis.

Do send me a post if you have any comments or suggestions.

Cards and more cards

Dear all,

It is really surprising to find out that I have not been making cards for a while. I could not figure out a reason, either I have been distracted by something more important (the only important thing on my mind these days are my Art & Design IGCSE students and my thesis) or I was just demotivated for whatever reason. These cards were requested by Kak Hijjah, my colleague. She started this tradition of giving best wishes cards for her students who are taking IGCSE. This is her second year to do that.

I am so grateful to be doing these cards for several reasons. First and foremost, I can meddle with my craft again. Second, it was a great challenge for me because she requested 45 cards. Me, being me, procrastinate and finally I was left with just a week to complete all. Alhamdulillah, I made it. Third reason, her students are my students as well, so it is rewarding to see their smiles when they receive the cards.
